SOUTHFIELD – The Michigan Council of Women In Technology Foundation is accepting applications for its 11th annual university scholarship and laptop grant program aimed at encouraging female students to pursue technology degrees and certifications at the college level. The deadline to apply is Jan. 31.

Open to women of all ages, the program covers:

One (1) high school senior scholarship $20,000

One (1) high school senior/GET-IT program member scholarship $4,000

One (1) undergraduate-level scholarship $15,000

One (1) graduate-level student scholarship $15,000 currently enrolled or who will be enrolled in technology program college/university courses

Five (5) $3,000 one-time awards, courtesy of Chrysler

Three (3) laptop grants

Through the scholarship program, the MCWT Foundation helps women pursue educational goals and become leaders in Michigan’s technology industry. Since 2002, $635,2000 has been given to women to pursue their technical interests. Our corporate partners realize the benefit of advancing women in the field. It’s through their support that this program continues making an impact on more women each year.

Applications are due by Jan. 31 to be considered for the 2014 fall semester. Award amounts are listed on the applications, which can be accessed by visiting MCWT’s scholarship page.
