LANSING ? The Michigan Economic Development Corporation is hosting two Community Development Workshops on September 22 and September 27 in Lansing.

?These workshops are a golden opportunity for economic developers and local officials to learn about all the tools available to facilitate strong communities,? said MEDC President and CEO Michael Finney. ?Putting Michigan?s economic and community development tools to work can help make communities more attractive to residents, visitors, employers and employees.?

Both Community Development Block Grant workshops are scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, located at 300 N. Washington Sq. in downtown Lansing. The cost to attend is $40, which includes lunch.

The workshops will focus on Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) grant administration, including federal laws and regulations. Attendees will learn about environmental review, Uniform Relocation Act, labor standards, record keeping requirements and more. First-time grantees or those looking to apply for a grant in the next two years are highly encouraged to attend.
