DETROIT ? Michigan Hall at Cobo Center will be transformed into an interactive display showcase in January 2011 during the North American International Auto Show, highlighting the many ways that Michigan companies are building and creating eco-friendly communities and sustainable lifestyles.
“Smarter Living In Michigan? will be the Michigan Economic Development Corp.’s follow up in 2011 at the NAIAS to its EcoXperience ride and showcase at January’s Detroit auto show. The exhibit will be comprised of two different areas, the MEDC Town Square and the adjacent Smarter Living Showcase, sponsored by DTE Energy.
“As the automotive industry continues to make incredible strides in environmentally-friendly production and technology, the features we offer to showcase at the NAIAS continue to evolve,” said Barron Meade begin_of_the_skype_highlightingend_of_the_skype_highlighting, Chairman, 2011 NAIAS. “Our partners at the MEDC have made it possible to help us transform Michigan Hall into an area that offers media, industry members and guests an experience unlike anything they’ll see elsewhere.”
Partnered with the MEDC, the NAIAS has been an enthusiastic supporter of alternative energy technology, allocating major portions of the show floor to “green” exhibits for the past few years, highlighting current and future environmentally-friendly developments in the automotive global community.
The MEDC Town Square and Smarter Living display area will again bring the ride and drive element indoors with a test track featuring electric-drive and hybrid vehicles from leading domestic and import manufacturers.
