SOUTHFIELD ? The Michigan Council of Women in Technology is hosting its
third annual career-building symposium on Feb. 12 at Lawrence Technological University that will include power networking opportunities and a prestigious lineup of speakers and workshop leaders.

6-8:30 p.m. evening-only session (includes dinner and keynote.)

Kicking off the mid-day keynote will be renowned author and researcher Susan Kaufmann. As author of Michigan Women and the High-Tech Knowledge Economy, Kaufmann is relied upon as an expert on Michigan?s technology industry and the role women play in propelling the workforce. Kaufmann also serves as associate director of the University of Michigan Center for the Education of Women, as well as associate director for advocacy, leading research and policy initiatives that benefit women.

During the closing keynote, Donna Ventimiglia, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Products Sales at Compuware, will speak on facing adversity and rising to the top. Ventimiglia is responsible for Compuware?s global sales organization. Starting out as a paralegal and office manager for a law firm, Ventimiglia took on a position at Compuware where her energy and motivation helped her advance quickly into a senior role.
