LUDINGTON – The Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association is taking its Michigan Energy Fair back to Northern Michigan in June after experimenting with the Rock Financial Showplace last year.
The sixth annual Michigan Energy Fair will take place at the Mason County Fair Grounds in Ludington. The first four years of its existence the fair was held at the Manistee County Fair Grounds in Onekama. It is scheduled for Friday June 24-Sunday June 26.
At its peak in Onekama the fair drew over 6,000 attendees. This year the expectation is that the crowds will be much larger. Former speakers have included Governor Jennifer Granholm, Lt. Governor John Cherry, Representative Dan Scripps, Scott Harrison CEO of Azure Dynamics, Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Enerygy Matt Rogers, Senator Debbie Stabenow, and many others.
The goal of this event is to allow those in the sustainable energy industry an opportunity to network with one another while also educating the public.
Not only is this event a great learning experience it also is fun, with local food, fun activities and workshops, engaging speakers, and music thrown in for good measure.
