GRAND RAPIDS – Michigan InfraGard, an FBI-backed group that helps business protect itself from cyber and physical attack, hosted a tabletop Avian flu pandemic exercise on Sept. 27 to see how prepared its members were to deal with a catastrophic disaster that could kill upwards of 5 percent of the people infected and depress worldwide growth by a staggering 6 percent in just 90 days. The drill, done as a video conference with InfraGard members in Grand Rapids, Warren and Escanaba in Michigan?s Upper Peninsula, opened a lot of eyes and started the attendees thinking about “what if.”
