LANSING – Michigan continues to throw its support behind plug-in electric vehicles with the redesign by the Michigan Public Service Commission of its PlugInMichigan web site.
The site serves as a location for all things PEVs – from basic information to detailed information on what?s required to ensure a positive experience as a PEV customer. The site is the result of the collaborative efforts of the Michigan Plug-in Electric Vehicle Preparedness Taskforce convened by MPSC Chairman Isiogu.
?Michigan is ready for the advent of plug-in electric vehicles,? said Isiogu. ?The PlugInMichigan.org website helps people understand everything they need to know before they purchase one ? from special electric rates, to financial incentives, to the installation process for charging stations and more. It really serves as a one-stop shopping destination that first responders, electrical inspectors, consumers, local, state and federal government officials and representatives from chambers of commerce, businesses, tourism industry and others will find very useful in serving their constituencies and ensuring they are ready for plug-in electric vehicles.?
The Web site contains information on:
* PEV basics
* Residential costs, rebates and incentives, requirements, and process
* Public and workplace costs, rebates and incentives, requirements, process
* Codes and safety: first responders, Michigan codes, national codes; and vehicles
* News and media, and
* Frequently asked questions.
PlugInMichigan.Org will be updated with new information as it becomes available.
