GRAND RAPIDS ? Michigan?s sustainable companies focused on improving the lives of their employees will be honored Sept. 16 by the Michigan Business and Professional Association at the third annual Best and Brightest Sustainable Companies awards program.
The winning companies will be honored at a symposium and awards celebration at Davenport University in Grand Rapids.
The program honors companies from all industries that are focused on being more sustainable, improving the lives of their employees and are committed to the local and global environments.
Winning companies were evaluated and scored by an independent research firm in the following categories: Education, Communication, Strategic Planning & Operational Implementation, Innovation & Problem Solving, Building & Grounds, Community Leadership, Workforce and Financial Performance. Each company?s entry is evaluated based on a point system; those receiving the highest points in relation to the company?s sustainable initiatives category are selected as the winners.
This educational symposium and awards gala will begin at 7:30 a.m. and will feature networking, exhibits, strolling breakfast and a keynote education session with speaker John Viera from Ford Motor Company. Participants will also hear case studies that will review their path to successful sustainability within their companies.
Steve Kelly of Wood Radio will host the awards ceremony that starts at 10:55 a.m. Elite winners will also be announced during the event.
The 101 Best and Brightest Sustainable Companies is being sponsored by Corp! Magazine, Davenport University, Grand Rapids Business Journal, Wood Radio and DTE Energy.
