ANN ARBOR ? The New Enterprise Forum Sept. 20 meeting features a panel of Angel Investors who will discuss what they look for in companies they invest in, typical structures of these deals, and what types of things they see that are deal killers.

Stewart Nelson, Angel Investor
Stew has been an angel investor for early stage SE Michigan companies for more than 15 years; his investments include Blaze Medical, Family Mint and White Pines Systems. After retiring as a commercial pilot for Northwest Airlines, he founded two businesses and helped a friend start a venture capital company in Ann Arbor (Arbor Partners). He is an NEF coach, assists with SPARK Boot Camps, and belongs to the Michigan Venture Capital Association. He presently sells commercial insurance at Kapnick Insurance Group, Ann Arbor.
Ken Kousky, Blue Water Angels Investment Network
Ken is not only an active investor, but is also CEO of MidMichigan Innovation Center, a privately funded business incubator that assists entrepreneurs in creating and expanding their businesses. He is also President/CEO of IP3, Inc. an information security consulting firm.
Skip Simms, Michigan Pre-Seed Capital Fund, Ann Arbor SPARK
In his role as VP of Entrepreneurial Business Development and Manager of the Pre-Seed Capital Fund at Ann Arbor SPARK, Skip prepares early stage start-up technology companies for equity fundraising.
Moderator: Terry Cross, Windward Associates
Terry is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor who currently serves as a Director of Monarch Antenna, a Delphi Corp. spinout. He also advises and serves on the management teams of a number of firms, including ArdentCause L3C, eCyren, and NextCAT of Detroit and InfoReady Corp. and NextGen Metabolomics of Ann Arbor.
