LANSING ? Neogen Corp. and Niowave will get housing assistance incentives from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority to offer special mortgages and other financial incentives to recruit new employees.
The Employer Assisted Housing program at MSHDA helps employers create
their own housing benefit program and brings a zero-interest down payment
loan of up to $5000 as a match for qualified employees. Employees using the
MSHDA assistance must contribute 1 percent of the sale price of the home as a fee.
Neogen is a multi-national life sciences company in Lansing that develops and markets products dedicated to food and animal safety. Neogen is offering forgivable loans that are matched by MSHDA down payment assistance and a MSHDA first mortgage.
Niowave, also in Lansing, is a new tech company producing particle separators for a worldwide market and has partnered with MSHDA’s Employer Assisted Housing program to create incentives for new hires.
“It is leadership and commitment from firms like Neogen and Niowave
that will bring new jobs and economic vitality to Michigan while at the
same time creating incentives for attracting and retaining quality
employees,” said Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm. “Through their commitment these employers do a service for their employees and the communities where they work, and that is good business for all of us.”
