DETROIT – NextEnergy will be a tour stop at ITS World Congress Detroit, where it will demonstrate the future for smart energy and transportation technology with Qualcomm and Chrysler Group.

Jean Redfield, NextEnergy President and CEO, said she expects upwards of 10,000 professionals to be in Detroit next week for the conference with about a third of them stopping by Next Energy headquarters near the Wayne State University campus during the course of the week. Tech showcases also will be available at Belle Isle and the Atwater Parking Lot.

She said there will be two clusters of demonstrations, showcasing the Chrysler electric vehicle technology that interacts with the electrical grid and homes. Qualcomm will showcase its Halo wireless electric charging, as well other technology that will allow drivers to wirelessly charge their smart phones and wearable computer devices, like smart watches.

It?s all part of the NextHome demonstration that NextEnergy launched in February, Redfield said.

?Chrysler will feature its interaction with the electric infrastructure,? she said. ?And Qualcomm its electric infrastructure with the car. NextEnergy works in both.?
