AUBURN HILLS – Factory automation software provider Plex Systems cut the ribbon this week on its new 40,000 square foot facility and announced the addition would house software developers, project managers and support staff, some 90 employees, about half of them new hires.
But when you take the math used by the Michigan Economic Growth Authority, which provided Plex with a state tax credit worth nearly $8 million over 10 years, the expansion is projected to create 298 total new jobs and 488 more spinoff jobs in the area.
Plex Systems, which now has 135 employees, estimates it will hire an additional 45 employees by the end of the year.
