SOUTHFIELD ? The Michigan Chapter of Women in Technology is now accepting applications for its 2008 mentoring program, which provides the structure and resources to create meaningful relationships that support learning, growth and satisfaction. Registration deadline is May 10, with the program kicking off on June 9.
How the Program Works:
Mentees and mentors are matched based on shared needs and resources. Many of the mentors are in leadership positions within their organizations. The 12-month program is voluntary, and frequency of meetings and relationship goals are established jointly by the participants.
The MCWT Mentoring Committee is a resource for information and can help in providing a framework for the relationship as well as facilitating networking opportunities with other mentoring teams.
Key Statistics on Mentoring Benefits:
75 percent of the surveyed Fortune 500 CEOs cited mentoring as one of the top three factors in their successful careers.
Companies with a mentoring program have a 71 percent increase in improved leadership and managerial skills.
Employees that have mentors earn between $5 and $22,000 more than employees who have not had mentors.
