Retired General To Deliver Keynote At Business Of Plugging In Conference

DEARBORN – Retired four-star Gen. Wesley Clark will the keynote address at the plug-in electric vehicle conference October 19-21. The conference will explore viable solutions to policies that will enable the commercial introduction of plug-in electric vehicles and economic models for success.

The agenda includes sessions focused on infrastructure requirements, battery manufacturing, and vehicle technology from the most influential experts in their respective industries.

During his military career, Clark wrote studies analyzing the dangers of foreign oil supply chains and the need for economic and military security in the Middle East. Today, Clark is Co-Chairman of Growth Energy and is a strong proponent of boosting the economy through the creation of green-collar jobs, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and decreasing our dependence on foreign oil.

More than 60 speakers are scheduled to present at this two-day conference that features keynote sessions and panel discussions on such topics as a national strategy to support plug-in electric vehicles, battery technology, infrastructure developments, creating a PEV ready workforce, and consumer acceptance.

The Business of Plugging In will bring together vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, energy companies, government agencies, financiers and researchers to address these challenges. New business models and relationships must be developed between these diverse stakeholders to identify and create successful business solutions and promote the growth of the PEV market.
