SAGINAW – The Saginaw Future Procurement Technical Assistance Center helped seven regional companies nab nearly $6.6 million in government contracts in the first quarter.

Saginaw Future said the companies won a total of 58 federal government contracts. The numerous products and services provided include specialized aerospace equipment, metal fabrication and medical device products. Due to confidentiality agreements, companies receiving contracts are not released.

The federal government is a multi-billion dollar purchaser of goods and services. States and local governments are also major purchasers of products and services. The Saginaw Future Inc. PTAC provides no fee assistance to businesses that are interested in tapping this market. SFI�??s Procurement Manager, Delena Spates-Allen, has over 20 years of expertise to help businesses acquire federal and state government contracts.

The services offered by the Saginaw Future PTAC include bid matching service, market research, specifications and standards, federal acquisition regulations, subcontracting opportunities and much more. During 2008, the Saginaw Future Inc. PTAC helped regional companies win a total of 222 government contracts with a total value of nearly $34 million.

Established in 1992, Saginaw Future is a public-private alliance of local businesses, the County of Saginaw, City of Saginaw, 16 local municipalities and the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce. SFI�??s strategic partners also include education, labor and government.
