LANSING – The Small Business Association of Michigan announced that David Palsrok has been named SBAM’s Vice President for Government Relations. He will be joining SBAM’s staff on May 18.

“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to forge a long term career at an outstanding organization like SBAM,” Palsrok said. “Given the significant economic challenges Michigan is facing, I think it is imperative to bring free market, free enterprise-oriented entrepreneurial solutions before the legislature. I look forward to tapping my legislative experience to help leverage the strength of the small business community at the Capitol.”

From 2003-2008, Palsrok was the state representative for Michigan’s 101st District (northwest Michigan.) Previously, he was executive director of Connect Michigan, a statewide coalition dedicated to broadband investment and competition; and was director of public policy for the Michigan Association of Realtors.

“David’s experience as a legislator and his contacts with policymakers make him a valuable addition to our staff,? said SBAM President and CEO Rob Fowler. “He has a very strong background in working with and representing small business owners, but just as importantly, a proven track record of building coalitions across a wide variety of interest groups. That experience will be crucial as he leads SBAM??s long term efforts to implement an entrepreneurial growth agenda in Michigan.”

Palsrok is a graduate of Michigan State University. He and his family will continue to maintain residences in Manistee and Lansing.
