DETROIT – Constance Logan, Michigan Assistant District Director for Minority Enterprise Development, has received the Society of American Military Engineers’ 2010 Government Small Business Advocate Award.

The award is given to a group of individuals who have demonstrated outstanding support to the Department of Defense planning, design, construction and environmental programs and who effectively communicate with small and large businesses to foster relationships and mentoring of small businesses.

?Constance works tirelessly to create business opportunities for Michigan entrepreneurs through her extensive network of business leaders,? said Richard Temkin, SBA District Director. ?In addition, she has provided exemplary leadership of SBA?s Emerging 200 initiative which is designed to grow economic activity in Detroit.?

Logan has over 10 years experience in government contract administration, negotiations, acquisition planning, procurement policy and technical program management in federal agencies including the Department of Defense, Environment Protection Agency and SBA. Constance has been twice recognized as the SBA Michigan District Office federal employee of the year by the Federal Executive Board. She has also been recognized by the International Detroit Black Expo as the ?Government Representative of the Year? and is a recipient of the Spirit of Detroit Award.
