NOVI ? The second Michigan Cyber Summit will be held on Oct. 25 and feature Gov. Rick Snyder and other leaders in the state?s efforts to grow a cyber security industry.
The summit also will serve as the host event for the second meeting of the National Governors Association Resource Center for State Cybersecurity Advisory Council. It will be held at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.
The 2013 summit is a follow up to the sold out 2011 event which served as the national launch for Cyber Awareness Month.
Data theft and breaches from cyber crime can cost businesses as much as $1 trillion globally. Government is no stranger to cyber attacks either. In fact, the State of Michigan blocked 187,000 cyber attacks each day in 2012. Attacks ranged from spam to web browser attacks to network intrusion.
