LANSING – Sunday’s gubernatorial debate between Republican Governor Rick Snyder and Democratic challenger Mark Schauer will be broadcast on several television stations throughout the state, not just Detroit Public Television.
WTVS-TV, the public television station in Detroit, is making the debate available to any station that wants to broadcast it.
While there may be more stations showing the debate, WTVS knows that at least WXYZ and WDIV in Detroit, the ABC and NBC affiliates in that market, as well as WNEM, the CBS affiliate in the Flint/Saginaw market; WOTV, one of the two ABC affiliates in west Michigan; and WMNN, an independent all-news channel based in Cadillac.
Besides WTVS, at least WCMU and WNMU are picking up the broadcast on public television. WNMU will show the debate on a delay.
