LANSING – The Michigan Land Bank Fast Track Authority is moving from the Michigan Strategic Fund to the Michigan State Housing Development Authority through an executive order Governor Rick Snyder issued Monday.

Snyder said EO 2013-8 would bring together two agencies working on redevelopment efforts.

“This strategic reorganization allows MSHDA to strengthen its partnership with the Michigan Land Bank as the agencies continue to work jointly on redevelopment initiatives to improve our communities,” Snyder said in a statement. “It is important to make the most efficient use of our resources as we continue to ensure the most responsive, best customer service state government.”

The executive order also moves the State Building Authority from the Department of Technology, Management and Budget to the Department of Treasury. That move shifts three full-time employees, a change that Snyder said makes sense because it consolidates most bonding functions within one department.
