MIDLAND – Startup

companies will showcase new automobile technology during an Auto Tech Forum

hosted by MidMichigan Innovation Center at the Midland Holiday Inn, June 24.

Participating

businesses will discuss breakthroughs for energy efficiency in vehicles, such

as battery electrode technology and lighter-weight materials, as well as other

innovations like “touch recognition” software for on-board screens.

Entrepreneurs

and investors are welcome to attend to watch the presentations, network and

enjoy refreshments. There is no cost, but registration is required.

The Auto

Tech Forum is the next in a series of forums MMIC hosts each year for various

industries. MMIC, a Midland-based nonprofit that supports the growth of budding

technology businesses, held a well-attended forum for healthcare startups

earlier this year at the same location.

“Our Tech

Forums are a popular way for companies to get more exposure for their

fascinating innovations and to interact with people who are interested, laying

a foundation for relationships that could help them grow,” said MMIC CEO

Kenneth Kousky. “The Auto Tech Forum is particularly timely, as automakers push

to build vehicles that are more fuel efficient, safer and more convenient for motorists.

The products presented here will address some of these key areas – it should be

an intriguing look at cutting-edge technology that could soon be commonly

used.”

The Auto

Tech Forum will run from 4:30-9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 810 Cinema Drive,

Midland.
