DETROIT – Liesl Eichler Clark, Deputy Director of the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth, will outline DELEG’s efforts to transform Michigan’s business environment through investment in the emerging green economy, at the fourth Tuesday monthly meeting May 26 at The Old Shillelagh in Greektown.

Clark will discuss ambitious efforts to identify, engage and support research and manufacturing in emerging clean technologies such as wind energy, solar and photovoltaic technology, alternative fuels, electric vehicles, and more.

Clark oversees all government-related energy sector activities to make Michigan a national leader in renewable energy, advanced energy technologies, and energy efficiency. This includes efforts to “Green Michigan,” develop and deploy sustainable practices, and address climate change. Prior to joining DELEG, Clark was a policy adviser for the Office of Governor Jennifer Granholm and for Michigan�’s Department of Agriculture and policy analyst for Senate Democratic Leader Bob Emerson.
