DETROIT- Cynthia Pasky, founder, president and CEO of the Detroit-based global IT services firm Strategic Staffing Solutions has been named an Enterprising Women of the Year by Women Impacting Public Policy, a national bipartisan organization which educates and advocates on behalf of women and minorities in business.
The award by WIPP, which has more than 500,000 members nationally, is an annual tribute to North America’s top women entrepreneurs who stand out as leaders in their communities.
“As S3 continues to grow both domestically and globally, I consider it one of my responsibilities to build relationships and effect positive change that helps generate new business and investment and encourages other women entrepreneurs,” said Pasky. “It is a special honor to be recognized for this work by Women Impacting Public Policy, which is devoted to the same goals.”
Recipients of the Enterprising Women of the Year award must have fast-growth businesses and at the same time mentor or actively support other women and girls involved in entrepreneurship. Many of these women are also leaders in other key organizations that support the growth of women’s entrepreneurship. This year marks the seventh anniversary of the awards celebration.
Pasky founded S3 in 1990 and has grown the company to branch locations in 23 U.S. and two European cities with nearly 1,700 employees and annual sales of $160 million in 2008. She impacts public policy through her strong global business relationships and board affiliations including Detroit Renaissance, the Kresge Eye Institute and the U.S. Baltic Foundation.
Women Impacting Public Policy partners with women and minority business owners on the issues affecting them around the country. As the national voice for women in business, the bipartisan organization advocates on behalf of women and minorities in business, strengthening their sphere of influence in the legislative process, creating economic opportunities and building bridges and alliances to other small business organizations.
