ANN ARBOR – Systems In Motion Inc. says it will add 150 jobs over the next year, mostly at its software delivery center in Washtenaw County’s Pittsfield Charter Township. The center already employs more than 200.
SIM says it?s working with the regional economic development agency Ann Arbor Spark to recruit both recent college graduates and experienced professionals to support its growth plans and is looking for qualified technical specialists to fill jobs in agile application development and business intelligence, including software architects and developers, software quality assurance testers, data scientists and database administrators.
?There are many positive things happening in our company today and we expect our growth to continue to accelerate, as more enterprises across the US understand the value of our Ann Arbor workforce,? said Colin Chapman, vice president and general manager at SIM. ?The biggest hurdle to a company?s growth is finding the right talent. We believe that the creative ways we add great people to our team, the work we do with local Universities, local government organizations and technical retraining programs will be integral to our future success.?
Although the company is hiring employees at all levels of expertise, company officials said they are particularly focused on recruiting recent college graduates from computer science and computer engineering programs to fill junior level positions.
Junior employees typically start their career path with SIM with an on-the-job training program, where they are mentored by senior level specialists in both technical skills and acclamation to the agile environment. This year, the company?s recruiting team participated in seven local university career fairs and hosted two career day events in an effort to identify and attract new talent.
