ANN ARBOR ? A fund raiser will be held Aug. 3 for Network Downtown Founder Ron Suarez, a technology entrepreneur, who is running for the Ann Arbor City Council primary election Aug. 8.
?We’ve already raised significant funds, so you don’t have to worry about whether you are able to contribute,? Suarez said. ?Just come out, invite friends, socialize and talk about the future you want for Ann Arbor.?
Suarez, a member of the Ann Arbor IT Zone, is running against fellow Democrat and incumbent John Roberts. There are no Republicans running for Council, so barring a major upset by a minor party or independent candidate, the primary votes will decide council membership. A minor party candidate has not been elected to the council since 1974.
The fund raiser, scheduled for 5:30 ? 8 pm at Inner Circle Media, 150 S. Fifth Avenue, Suite 205, will be catered by Richard Rice of Detroit by Design.
As a disclaimer, Suarez is the podcasting business partner of Mike Brennan, Editor & Publisher of MItechnews.Com.
