HOLLAND – Information technology workers remain in high demand in West Michigan for summer and fall 2013, according to a new survey.

More than 60 percent of all the responding companies plan to hire tech staffers in the next half-year, continuing at the high levels of the past eighteen months. Three-quarters of small companies (fewer than 50 employees) will add to IT staffs, while 80 percent of large companies (more than 1000 employees) will increase IT staff.

Mid-level application workers will, as usual, be the most strongly recruited tech employees. However, junior support jobs are growing more than in the recent past.

Fewer companies expect IT pay rates to increase in the next six months than did during for the past half year. The use of interns fluctuates with summer internships driving the higher percents into the first half of each year. Fewer companies are outsourcing projects; only half as many expect to do national outsourcing as did in the last forecast.

Our chief recruiting officer Beth DeWilde says, ?My office has been very busy this year, so I?m not surprised to see all kinds of industries hiring new IT staff.?

Twice each year, since 2003, Paragon Recruiting in Holland, Michigan, polls senior IT managers in the West Michigan market to determine what the future holds for IT staffing, outsourcing, and pay rates. Each forecast includes responses from about 100 companies.
