ANN ARBOR ? TechTwilight ? connecting entrepreneurs and their families for an inspiring evening of activities, demonstrations and hands-on invention ? will be held May 19 at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum.
?By making technology fun and cool, and introducing families to local innovators, TechTwilight is designed to inspire kids to think about careers in technical fields,? said Mel Drumm, executive director, Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. ?Every year, TechTwilight grows a little more, both in attendees and exhibitors. This year is shaping up to be our most memorable evening to date, with companies from Toyota to local start-ups offering a glimpse at cutting edge innovations.?
TechTwilight features dozens of innovative companies from throughout the region who will display video games and other interactive technologies. Exhibitors include the Toyota Technical Center, which will be offering an interactive engineering and careers display, and NuStep, which will offer a boot camp based on its KidStep equipment. Local entrepreneurs will be on hand to talk with families.
Family fun offered at TechTwilight includes the opportunity to make a glow in the dark bracelet, a special dark area to see things glow, squid dissections and creating a stop motion animation movie. Attendees will also be able to use technology pioneers by Ann Arbor?s Maker Works to make universal connector pieces for popular building block toys. Younger attendees can enjoy kids-only activities offered through supervised hands-on workshops.
To celebrate TechTwilight, the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum store is selling commemorative t-shirts from Ann Arbor?s createmytee, nerd glasses and a range of glow in the dark toys.
Tickets for TechTwilight at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum are $25 for adults and $10 for children. Family ticket packages for two adults and two children are $60. Exhibitor and sponsorships opportunities for TechTwilight are also still available; all proceeds benefit the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum.
