How do you get the best valuation for your business – or can you? Join the New Enterprise Forum on Oct. 15 to learn what the realities of valuation and how that affects your investment in your business.

Panelists:

Timothy Damschroder, Partner, Bodman Law Firm. Tim advises clients in business and corporate finance, securities, tax, and intellectual property law. He specializes in high-tech companies from start-up to transactions involving IP, venture capital financing, and eventual sale or IPO. He holds a J.D. from the University of Detroit School of Law and an A.B. from U-M.

Chris Rizik, CEO, Renaissance Venture Capital Fund. Chris is also a co-founder of Ardesta LLC, the nation’s first accelerator for the nanotechnology and microtechnology field. Chris successfully led negotiations and closings of more than twenty venture capital transactions for Ardesta. Prior to Ardesta, he was a managing director for Avalon Technology, LLC, where he secured more than 30 venture capital transactions in a three-year period.

Eric Sieczka, Co-Founder and President & CEO, Pixel Velocity, Inc. Eric has spent the past 15 years commercializing technologies and building Michigan-based enterprises, with experience in technology creation, product development, operations, and financing. Previously, he was with EOTech Inc, a leading provider of holographic weapon sights, where he built the firm from a start-up product concept into a fully integrated manufacturing facility. He holds eight patents, a BSEE degree from Kettering Institute, and an MBA from U-M.

Our moderator will be Skip Simms, a Director at Ann Arbor SPARK, who manages SPARK’s Business Accelerator program for early stage technology companies, which helps prepare them for equity fund raising. Skip raised and now manages the Michigan Pre-Seed Capital Fund.

This month’s NEF Showcase Presenters will be Edward Shaffer of Advanced Battery Concepts, which is developing low-cost, large-format, longer-lasting rechargeable batteries, and Chuck Cole of BioLogic Engineering, which is developing computer-controlled motor-driven strength training technologies for superior performance gains.
