GRANDVILLE – Trivalent Group announced that its internal review team has narrowed 52 nonprofit applicants to 20 semi-finalists in the first stage of CompassionIT, a philanthropic initiative that will provide $30,000 in free technology equipment and Trivalent Group services to a Michigan nonprofit. The five finalists will be announced on Dec. 3 with a final round of voting to follow.

The second stage, a public vote at TGCompassionIT.com/vote.html, will begin today and will narrow the applicant pool to five finalists. Members of the public can vote daily online until midnight on Nov. 30, 2012 and will need to sign-in with a Facebook account. All five finalists will receive an assessment service worth at least $4,000 from Trivalent Group.

?With so many outstanding organizations nominated, it was difficult to choose 20 nonprofits as semi-finalists,? said Larry Andrus, CEO of Trivalent Group. ?We dedicated a great deal of time to reviewing the applications and are pleased with the nonprofits that are moving forward. Now, the real fun begins as the public votes on the five finalists.?

The 20 semi-finalists are American Red Cross of West Michigan, Artists Creating Together, Catherine’s Health Center, Comprehensive Therapy Center, Comstock Community Center, Inc, Degage Ministries, Family Enrichment Center, Family Network, Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids, Greater Hopes Inc., Guiding Light Mission, Haven of Rest Ministries, In The Image, Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes, Kalamazoo Deacons Conference (KDC), Kids’ Food Basket, Love In the Name of Christ (INC) of the Tri-Cities, Macatawa Resource Center (MRC), West Michigan Refugee Education and Cultural Center, and Women’s Aid Service, Inc.
