TROY – Troy Chamber President Michele Hodges recently celebrated her 10th anniversary with a surprise reception given her after the April board meeting. Current and past board members, as well as current and former staff, attended.

“Michele is a great encourager and all great leaders do this,? said 2011 Board Chairman John Tagle of John Tagle Architects. ?As a result, she has lead many to accomplish the most they can and do their best at it.”

Michele?s savvy business acumen, endless energy and high level of diplomacy in challenging situations are some of the traits cited by Chamber board members.

“What sets Michele apart is her ability to connect regions of separate components into stakeholders unified towards a single vision,” said 2011 Vice Chair Scott Foster of Wellco Corp. “She has mastered the ability to deploy initiatives with lasting, exponential results.”

Under her leadership, the Troy Chamber has developed many great programs, and Michele has worked extremely hard to position the Chamber and the business community for success. The Troy Chamber is a dynamic organization comprised by more than 700 of the Troy area?s best companies. Established in 1959, the Chamber has a 19-member board of directors, five-member staff team, 13 committees, and more than 100 events per year.

Troy Chamber Board Secretary Greg Clark of AT&T said:”Michele has been a tremendous leader for the Troy Chamber. She is a bridge builder?a strong ambassador for Troy, the Detroit region, and the entire state of Michigan. Her positive energy and enthusiasm are infectious, and her words and deeds, continually inspire others to ?think big?.”

Over the past 10 years, Michele has been honored as Chamber Professional of the Year, Crain?s Detroit Business 40 Under 40 class of 2006, Leader/Innovator, Most Influential Woman, Distinguished Leader, and Executive to Watch.

Michele?s professional highlights from the Chamber include formation of the Troy Leadership Coalition, Oakland County Wellness Coalition, and a Nonprofit Network. She also procured full funding for the Troy Birmingham Transit Center and ALOeTERRA Solar House. In October 2011, she will lead a group of business leaders and area residents to China.
