AKT Peerless Environmental Services is a Michigan-based environmental

consulting firm. PM Environmental serves banks and other lending institutions,

estate by providing a full range of environmental services.

PM Environmental has about 50 employees in four offices in Michigan and

locations. The company will do some consolidation in its Lansing and metro Detroit offices. The new company’s headquarters will be in Farmington

Hills, with satellite offices in Saginaw, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Detroit and Decatur, Ala.

The merger will likely result in new jobs as well.

“This is going to open up opportunities for us to grow,” he says. “With the

ability to offer a larger variety of services at more competitive prices,

we anticipate the need to add staff,? said PM Environmental

principal and vice president Michael Kulka.

“This is a very exciting time. We’re confident that we are assembling a

great group of people whose professionalism is matched by their passion.”

Brian Eggers, AKT Peerless principal. It’s a marriage that plays to the strengths of each company.

“PM Environmental has a strong reputation for environmental due

diligence services for the development and banking industries,” said

Eggers. “At the same time, AKT Peerless has strengths in brownfield

redevelopment and site reclamation, with a strong customer base in the

industrial world.”

Kulka sees the combination leaving AKT-PM in a strong leadership

position, giving the company strength in several areas, including:

Brownfield redevelopment, including federal and state grants and

other incentives

Environmental due diligence, through Phase I and Phase II

environmental assessments

Management of underground storage tanks

Environmental cleanup and remediation

Environmental compliance and training

Industrial hygiene and indoor air quality issues

assessment grants issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. They

have helped secure more than $200 million in brownfield and other

redevelopment funds for clients throughout Michigan, while PM Environmental

has conducted thousands of environmental assessments for banks, law firms

and developers.

The equity partners in the new company will include

Kulka, PM Environmental president and principal Peter S. Bosanic, AKT

Peerless principals Eggers, Tony R. Anthony and Anthony J. Kashat.
