ANN ARBOR – The University of Michigan has launched MBusinessLink, its new quarterly e-newsletter for industry. The debut of this inaugural online issue opens another valuable avenue of communication between the University and its extensive network of partners in the business world.
MBusinessLink is a publication of the Business Engagement Center. The BEC was established in fall 2007 to strengthen the University’s ties to business and community partners and to help revitalize and diversify the state of Michigan’s economy. The Center is funded jointly by the U-M Office of the Vice President for Research and the Office of University Development.
“The BEC is the only place with a comprehensive view of the entire University and its many resources for business,” says Daryl Weinert, BEC’s executive director. “Through MBusinessLink, we want to provide the business community with the most important and relevant news assembled from across the 19 U-M schools and colleges on the Ann Arbor campus and the two campuses in Flint and Dearborn.”
Future issues of MBusinessLink will feature profiles of companies engaged with the BEC and highlight new U-M research discoveries and technology-licensing opportunities available to corporations and entrepreneurs. E-newsletter coverage also will include information on professional-development programs, student projects, on-campus recruitment, strategic giving opportunities and much more. In short, MBusinessLink will serve as a vital tool for companies seeking to connect with the University’s multitude of resources.
E-newsletter subscribers currently include key decision makers at hundreds of companies, ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups to Fortune 500 firms, as well as members of state and local economic-development organizations, chambers of commerce and other trade organizations.
