FLINT – The third annual Veteran Entrepreneurial Training Conference is scheduled for June 16 at the Lansing Community College, M-Tech Center and will focus on starting and funding a business, procuring state and federal contracts, and veteran benefits.

Chris Holman, one of Lansing’s best known civic leaders and entrepreneurs will be the keynote speaker. Rick Forzano, president of Rick Forzano Associates and former head coach with the Detroit Lions and at the U.S. Naval Academy, will provide welcoming remarks.

“We aim to have something for everyone,” said Edward L. Ronders, executive director of VetBizCentral, a Flint-based Veterans Business Outreach Center. “How to start a business, find funding for that enterprise as well as identifying contracting opportunities with the state of Michigan is all part of our agenda. And there will be networking opportunities as well.”

The conference registration fee is $30. The fee includes conference materials, a continental breakfast and box lunch.

Co-sponsored by VetBizCentral and the U.S. Small Business Administration, the conference is aimed at veteran entrepreneurs and those who want to start their own business.

Also participating in the event are the state’s Supplier Diversity program, the Procurement Technical Assistance Centers of Michigan and the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center office in Lansing.

This is the first time the spring conference will be held in the Lansing area.
