GRAND RAPIDS ? The West Michigan Climate Resiliency Framework Initiative is offering a series of free workshops on climate resiliency to prepare companies for vulnerability discussions.

The Initiative is a partnership of West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum, Michigan State University, Penn State University’s Rock Ethics Center and other collaborators designed in part to help local organizations better respond to extreme weather events and other impacts to supply chains and logistics commonly associated with climate change.

Workshops include:

Safeguard operations and property against extreme weather and other climate events.

Prepare for impact of unpredictability on high-performance systems (eg: LEAN, LEED).

Provide increased value to clients, customers, and stakeholders.

Increase the efficiency, sustainability and profitability of your operations.

Be a sustainability leader in your industry and the community.

Help develop a framework for our region to respond to climate impacts.

Help researchers develop a model for U.S. communities to respond to climate impacts.

Interested participants will have the opportunity to work with researchers for the National Research Network for Sustainable Climate Risk Management and receive ongoing support from WMSBF project coordinators to help you identify vulnerabilities within your organization.
