GRAND RAPIDS – The West Michigan Science & Technology Initiative has expanded its membership program previously known as BioTech Connect. Now it’s called Connect2, a collection of more than 100 companies, corporations and organizations.

WMSTI officials said the new name was selected to better reflect the wide range of industries served by the program, and the opportunities members now have to tap the resources necessary to achieve success in the life sciences industry.

??In 2005, it became clear that the area needed a better way to come together and fully grasp all the changes occurring as life sciences started accelerating as an economic force in the community,? said Linda Chamberlain, executive director of WMSTI. ??In 2008, WMSTI is in a stronger position than ever before in terms of being able to help life science organizations ?? from drug discovery to medical device ?? find the resources they need to grow and succeed. The move to Connect2 reflects the significant progress we??ve made and the many new opportunities on the horizon.?

By joining Connect2, members gain access to the region??s most comprehensive network of industry leaders on the front-lines of the life sciences industry in West Michigan. Members are also highlighted on the WMSTI website, listed in the Connections database and receive special member-only pricing to all WMSTI-sponsored events.

Additionally, members are able to network and build critical business contacts through the many WMSTI-sponsored seminars and workshops.
