ANN ARBOR – New Enterprise Forum’s June 18 meeting, called You’re the Founder – But Are You a CEO?, is a look at the contrasting skills required to develop a new technology and to bring it to market.
The participants for this event include:
Ian Bund – Chairman and Co-Founder of Plymouth Venture Partners, as well as co-founder and General Partner of Innovation Capital. He has been an investor in many companies, more than 30 listed on NASDAQ, including Lifescan, Stratacom, Ventana, and Neogen.
George Levy – Executive VP and CFO at GDI Infotech, Inc. In addition to GDI, he has assisted the growth of three other Inc. 500 companies: New Methods Research, founded with his wife, became an Inc. 500 company in 1989; the others are T/J Technologies and Advanced Modular Power Systems.
Chris Rizik – Co-Founder and Board Member of Ardesta. Chris has two decades of experience in technology, finance, and law as a principal player in more than 50 multi-million dollar venture capital transactions. He is also CEO and Fund Manager of the Renaissance Venture Capital Fund.
Deborah VandenBroek – Currently Director of Development & Marketing at Packard Health, she has been CEO and President at St. Joseph Mercy in Pontiac and Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Deborah specializes in hospital turnarounds, new health care facility projects, strategic planning and fund raising.
Our moderator will be Claudia Rast of Pear Sperling Eggan & Daniels, P.C. Claudia specializes in business, technology, and environmental law and is currently Chair of the Environment, Energy, and Resources Law Section of the American Bar Association.
Showcase Presentation: Each month, NEF highlights an emerging company and provides them a Showcase Presentation. Presenting this month will be Michael Tarasev of Blaze Medical Devices, which is devising methods for assessing the quality of red blood cells before the blood is used for a transfusion.
