BATTLE CREEK ? Scott Baron, President and CEO of Arbor Preclinical and Consulting of Ann Arbor, was the winner Thursday night of the elevator pitch contest at the FastTrac TechVenture West Michigan training program finale.
Baron bested six other entrepreneurs who gave 90-second elevator pitches to a panel of private equity finance specialists at a program in Battle Creek. Baron won a $50 gift certificate from Amazon.Com.
Arbor Preclinical and Consulting was one of 13 business teams that began the condensed, six-week training program in Kalamazoo on Feb. 27 at Southwest Michigan First. FastTrac is a nationally recognized curriculum for entrepreneurial education. It helps technology entrepreneurs maximize the potential of their technology businesses. Participants learn from the region?s most successful entrepreneurs, investors and business development experts. They meet industry peers launching and growing technology ventures and network to build a community of support and access to resources.
John Balbach with MISBTDC served as the program?s facilitator. Program partners include Great Lakes Entrepreneurs Qust, MISBTDC, Southwest Michigan First, Battle Creek Unlimited, Lakeshore Advantage, The Right Place and MichBio.
