SOUTHFIELD ? The Michigan Council of Women in Technology is sponsoring its eighth Annual Website Design Competition for high school girls. This year?s theme is Ancestors: OMG to encourage creativity, thoughtfulness and a little research.
Girls are encouraged to create a website that reveals surprises about three of their ancestors. These surprises may be shocking, funny, historical or unique. Note: If a contestant prefers, she may examine someone else?s family tree and create the website using that person?s ancestors.
Contestants may compete as an individual or in a team of two girls, with no change in how the teams are judged. A sponsoring teach must be named on the registration form. Choose from two categories: Beginner and Advanced.
Sign up for the optional Training Day at Davenport University in Livonia to be held Saturday, Oct. 12.
