DETROIT – Robert McGee, Engineering Society of Detroit executive director, talks about ESD during an interview at the MAIN event, a Lawrence Technology University student design contest the night before the North American International Auto Show started. McGee talks about how ESD is the Michigan coordinator for the Future Cities program where 39 student teams compete to become the state winner and compete in the national competition in February.

ESD is involved with US First. He announced that the U.S. national competition will be in Michigan in 2018. He has recruited 75 ESD, corporate and collaborator members to help him with this initiative.

ESD also has developed 16 student chapters statewide. Plus ESD has launched a new project, called Girls in Engineering, to recruit my diversity to the engineering ranks. To learn more, click on https://soundcloud.com/podcastdetroit/m2-64-robert-mcgee-esd
