LANSING – There are several states yet to hold caucuses and primaries before Michigan’s March 8 presidential primary that will help shape the Democratic contest between former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, but a new survey shows Clinton leading with 50 percent to 40 percent.
Powering Clinton to that lead was her 71 percent 19 percent advantage over Sanders among African-American voters, according to the survey from North Carolina-based Public Policy Polling.
The survey was conducted Sunday through Tuesday among 500 likely Democratic primary voters via automated telephone interviews and has an error margin of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.
