Rocket Fiber Now Offering $70 Gigabit Internet In Downtown Detroit

DETROIT – In a way, it was appropriate: On a day when 50-mph wind gusts tore through Michigan, Rocket Fiber announced residential and business internet speeds that will blow you away.

Rocket, another Rock Ventures startup, is now offering a 1-gigabit-per-second residential connection for just $70 a month. A 10-gigabit-per-second home service is available for $299. And speeds of up to 100 gigabits per second are available for businesses, with the deals custom priced.

For those keeping score, the average home broadband connection is about 10 megabits per second. The $70-a-month plan is 100 times faster than that; the $299 plan, 1,000 times faster.
