DETROIT – InfraGard has made decisions at the national level to both make it easier for people to join and to guarantee the security of members who join to be a part of securely sharing sensitive information.
Within the next few months, FBI will be requiring the rollout of a New Systems Upgrade, which will include an online membership application (OMA) and a member profile questionnaire (MPQ). Yes, this is the government, and we are dealing with technology, so there are twice as many reasons to introduce new acronyms.
To begin this process, Michigan, along with the rest of the IMA chapters (see – lots of acronyms) will need to identify and submit to the FBI their primary and secondary points of contact, or, you guessed it, POC’s.
To finish off the litany of acronyms, the division of the FBI responsible for all of this is the Public Private Alliance Unit, or…. PPAU.
Rod Kinghorn from Eastern Michigan InfraGard is making the decision for our IMA, and is requesting that anyone wanting to volunteer for this role contact him by close of business Friday. He has to get a final answer back to the national level by June 25th.
I, for one, am looking forward to making it easier to help people interested in InfraGard get connected to the organization, I just hope we find a way to do it without creating fifty new acronyms!.
