DETROIT – InfraGard East has a couple of exciting events in the early planning stages, but I won’t have more specifics until after the board meeting next Thursday. What I can tell you is that you should mark some space on your calendar on April 22 for a members only event that will feature a KGB expert brought in from the West Coast by our local FBI branch for some interesting education on foreign practices. I don’t know that the time or location are confirmed yet, but a possibility for venue is Walsh College.
Another event under development in conjunction with the Citizens Academy Alumni Association is the first annual InfraGard Shoot. Another members only event, this one promises to be a lot of fun if you can get over the location in the Milan Correctional Facility
The citizens academy has done this event in the past, and one of our board members, Tom Raupp, who also sits on the Citizens board, had the inspired idea to work with them and make this more of a joint event this year. Previous events have had SWAT team demonstrations, a chance to fire automatic weapons on a closed range designed for the purpose and some refreshments to boot. Not a bad day at all!
If you are interested in some of these activities, but don’t yet have your Michigan InfraGard membership, don’t wait – the application takes a while to clear for security purposes, so get it in soon! Go to InfaGard.Net.Chapter.Michigan and complete an application today.
