TROY – Detroit is a great place to live, work, raise a family and enjoy a successful business career. I know, I?ve done it. And yes, by Detroit I mean the greater Detroit region, like the seven-county southeastern Michigan region, home of almost 5 million people, the Red Wings, Tigers, Lions and Pistons.
The problems that took place at the Palace during a Pistons? game a couple weeks ago where several players went into the stands has nothing to do with where it took place except that it was in the United States. This could have happened in any city in our country. In my opinion, this is a societal problem, not a Detroit problem.
For us Detroiters, we need to know this could have happened anywhere and go on. We?ve nothing to hide. We are what we are. Let?s continue to be positive and support our community.
Here is a statistic for you all to consider. I believe that if you add in Michigan State University and the University of Michigan along with our major professional sporting teams, that we have won more national championships in the last 20 years than any other community in the United States. Have we had problems? One or two. But, so have almost all other communities.
