NOVI – Six hundred sixty ITC Holdings Corp. employees raised $12,500 to support Pearl, Texas, residents impacted by Hurricane Harvey. The funds will support the Pearland Neighborhood Center to deliver food, water, baby items, hygiene items and cleaning supplies to Pearland and Brazoria County residents in need.
ITC Holdings is the nation’s largest independent electricity transmission company. This donation comes as a follow up to the hurricane relief efforts of ITC’s parent company, Fortis Inc. The Fortis family of companies has combined to donate approximately $100,000 to the American Red Cross Hurricane Harvey Campaign in support of residents and communities.
“We’re proud of our employees for stepping up to support their fellow Americans in need,” said Linda Apsey, president and CEO of ITC. “Between their generosity and the support of Fortis, we have been able to provide much-needed relief for some of the communities that were hardest hit by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.”
In addition, Fortis companies have committed 140 field crew members to assist with power restoration efforts in the Caribbean and Florida. ITC and Fortis plan to send 40 additional crew members to the Islands of Turks and Caicos, where Fortis has operations.
ITC Holdings, through its regulated operating subsidiaries ITCTransmission, Michigan Electric Transmission Company, ITC Midwest and ITC Great Plains, ITC owns and operates high-voltage transmission infrastructure in Michigan, Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma, and in development in Wisconsin. These systems serve a combined peak load exceeding 26,000 megawatts along approximately 15,800 circuit miles of transmission line, supported by 660 employees and nearly 1,000 contractors across our expanding footprint.
