EAST LANSING – If you are looking for an entry-level job in the energy industry, CLEAResult
has hundreds of opening nationwide, including more than a dozen in Michigan.
CLEAResult
is hired by major utility companies, such as DTE and Consumers, to perform
energy audits on homes and businesses. CLEAResult has more than 50 offices
around the country.
“When
utility companies needs to put in an energy efficiency program, they outsource
the job to CLEAResult and other competitor companies to design, run and manage these
programs,” said Senior Recruiter James Hatheway.
“We go to
homes, businesses, hospitals, do energy assessments,” he said. “We make
recommendations on how the can save energy. We work with them through the
process of upgrading the system. We don’t do physical labor on the HVAC, but we
work with independent contractors who do the work.”
Hatheway
said he has multiple openings in East Lansing for energy advisors and customer
service – positions that pay $16 an hour and include full benefits.
“We’re
looking for young people, fresh out of college, looking to start a career path,”
he said. “We want folks who can
communicate well over the phone. Who have an interest in energy efficiency. The
minimum requirements are not written in stone. If they have knowledge about energy
efficiency, that’s great, but we can train them.”
