LANSING – A bill phasing out
Michigan’s film incentive program is officially on Governor
Rick Snyder‘s desk awaiting his action. HB
4122 was presented to Snyder on Monday. A spokesperson said last
week he is reviewing the bill.
The bill has been controversial this
term, with the House pushing to end the film incentives in March and the Senate
not completely on board. In early June, the Senate not only took up the bill,
but amended it to shut down the Michigan Film Office entirely.
In its current form, presented to Snyder,
the bill allows the Film Office to remain open, though its appropriation source
remains unclear.
