LANSING – A

dramatic search for what remains of a post-cataclysmic world is at the center

of “North,” currently being filmed in Detroit through August.

The project

is eligible to receive a $139,927 incentive from the Michigan Film Office. The

eligible incentive amount is based on an anticipated spending of $399,791 along

with the hiring of 45 employees and 35 extras from Michigan, which

equate to three full-time employment positions.

On July 10,

House Bill 4122 was signed into law, which eliminates the program whereby

Michigan Film Office may enter into new film and digital media incentive

agreements. The aforementioned project was issued an executed agreement prior

to the signing of the legislation.

Any film or

digital media project approved and issued a fully executed agreement prior to

the signing of the legislation will be administered in accordance with the law.

Michigan Film Office is no longer accepting applications for projects seeking

incentives.
