LANSING – Seniors

in the state will have easier access to information about services in their

area through a new website launched Monday by the Department of Health and

Human Services Aging and Adult Services Agency.

Among other

services, the site lists contact information for area agencies on aging by

county as well as other public agencies in each county that could provide

services.

Visitors can

also find information sorted by the type of assistance needed.

“The

state, in partnership with local aging agencies and service providers, offers

numerous high-quality programs and services that can help older adults maintain

their independence as they age,” AASA Director Kari Sederburg said.

“The state’s new aging website was developed to be the best place to go to

quickly find out what types of services are available, and which agency you

need to call to see if you qualify.”

Governor

Rick Snyder had called for development of the new site in his special

message on aging in 2014. You can find the site at http://www.michigan.gov/aging
