ANN ARBOR— Mark your calendars for the upcoming A2ZERO Household Electronics Collection events taking place Saturdays, Oct. 11and Nov. 15, 10 a.m.–1 p.m.
These events are hosted by the City of Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations (OSI) in collaboration with Comprenew, an e-stewards certified Michigan-based nonprofit that recycles and refurbishes electronics sustainably and ethically.
All Ann Arbor residents are welcome to register. Registration is required and is now open for the Oct. 11 event, which will be held at Zion Lutheran Church (1501 W. Liberty St.). Register for this event at a2zero_electronics.eventbrite.com.
To stay updated on when registration opens for the November event, and to find information about future events, visit a2gov.org/electronics. These collection events are limited to household electronics, so businesses, organizations and institutions are not eligible to participate. 
Residents who register will be able to drop off the following devices at no cost:
- Desktop and laptop computers
 - Tablets and eReaders
 - Phones (landline and cellular)
 - Keyboards and mice
 - Cords/cables/wires
 - Networking equipment
 - One home printer/copier/scanner (small inkjet or laser, up to 35 pounds)
 - One television or monitor up to 60 pounds (approximately the size of a 60-inch flat screen TV or a 20-inch tube TV/monitor)
 - Audio/visual equipment
 - And more (most small/medium items with cords and/or batteries are accepted, but please note any items that are not on this list in your registration for confirmation)
 
In addition, the following items will be accepted for a fee. Please bring a debit or credit card if you will be bringing these items:
- Additional and oversized televisions and monitors
 - Additional and oversized printers/copiers/scanners
 - UPS (uninterruptible power supplies)
 
Electronics recycling and reuse is a key component to moving towards a circular economy, one of over 40 actions outlined in the city A2ZERO carbon neutrality plan. A circular economy focuses on extending the usable life of items through reuse, repair, lending, and other activities.
